How did the practice session at OCFS this past Wednesday evening go? Was there a determination/confirmation - pro or con - on the September 6th date for there? I still do not see them listed on the OCFS website's schedule. As they're listed on the 600 Modified website:
"9/6 Orange County Fairgnds"

Surprised no answer yet I did find out that Nick Mady turned the track at 14.441 for an average of 92.058 MPH - Per My Laps

Per Doug Borger, the 600 Mods were turning laps as fast as the 358 Modifieds. As far as still running OCFS in September, the date is still a go. Xcel is looking into several items such as wear and tear on engines, tires and running gear, braking, and areo downforce as it affects corner entry. Stay tuned, but as of now it's on.

Hate to say this, but the 600 Modifieds did not turn lap times the same as the 358's.

From my column, today, 6/11/08 on www.openwheelracers.com
"Other stuff: A week ago, last Wednesday, OCFS had a special "Test and Tune" night. Justin Grosz had his ARDC midget there, getting in some track time, prior to his being old enough to run with the ARDC. His first race will be when the ARDC visits the Accord Speedway on July 11th. Also in attendance that night were three 600 Modifieds. I see that one of them, driven by Nick Mady, turned the big 5/8 mile oval in a time of 24.441. That comes out to a 92.058 MPH average speed. That’s a little quicker than the Pro Stocks, but a tick slower than the Sportsman, at OC. Supposedly the 600 Modifieds will be racing at OCFS on September 6th – well, let me say this: It’s on the 600 Modifieds website, but still not on the schedule for OCFS, per the OCFS website. Oh yes, the 600 modified website can be found here: www.xcelchassis.com"
