Does anyone run cars with the motors on the right side anymore? I see alot of them for sale, but don't see any at Lanco.

Thanks, Matt

Is there any reason why i wouldn't want to run one?

For the most part I think it is more of a convience thing. That and all the sprockets are on the Left side of the motor therefore easier to change sprockets but other then that if you are just starting out there isnt anything wrong with them. I was once told that the RH cars got air better to the motor somehow. Dont know how true this is but what I heard.

One runs at the track where I race (Hamlin), but the car isn't very fast or maybe its just the driver...

But when I bought my car I was told to stay away from right sided car because the motor on the right side sets off the center of gravity and makes the car impossible to get dialed in.... But I was just told that and really didn't want to find out.... I guess if they switch the rotation on which we race the tracks, a right sided car may be better...... Which I don't think thats going to happen...

There is nother wrong with a right hand car if you know how to setup a car. The right hand car is a great and cheap way to get started into just to try it out. I had a right hand car for my first car and everything was good with it. I was very compedative with it. At Airport ive seen a right hand car win the track championship for the 125 class 2 years ago. So a fast right hand car is not impossible

We had our car working pretty good last year they are definatly not a bad starter car, you learn how to drive and what changes to make and when you would get a left hand car you basicly work on fine tuning that, but the left hand comparied to a right hand are a lot easier to work on gears for example left hand like five minutes and right hand at least a half hour. Here are pics of my old car.

The car at hamlin isn't fast because it has an old stock suzuki engine. and the engine is not running right they are slowly trying to get it dialed in. it sputters all of the way down the track. I thik that the main problems that we see with the cars is that most of the people that own them are rookies and are just learning how to work on and drive the cars. also the right hand cars were made longer ago and alot of them have the old axles that don't have splines or direct mount front tires and other things like that. so that makes it harder to work on. It is still a great starter car.

I've raced a rh car for 2 years and i like it alot. Im not a front runner by any means but we can make it run decent. Its just alot of work with gears like everyone else said and getting it to run. Towards the end of the race my car would push real bad due to the fuel burn off (I have a side tank on it) But for a starter car they are cheap and a great way to get into micros.
