Im thinking about buying a video recorder. what brand or type should I look for to get decent quality videos?

Go Pro Hero just came out with an HD camera, suppose to fix the high levels of noise and much better vibration control. http://www.goprocamera.com/

the older style (non-HD) isn't a bad camera, other than the crackling from the excessive noise. no matter which road you choose to take, gopro is the only way to go (sounds like a cheesy catch phrase, but it's the truth)

One thing I found to improve the GoPro sound & vibration was to use a stick-on mount attached to the high density roll bar padding. You can run a hose clamp around it just to be sure it's held tight. The foam absorbs a lot of the vibration, which helps the sound clarity. Also a little elec tape on the corners of the camera to take up any play inside the case...

A piece of foam inside at the speaker helps too...
