Record high temperatures heated up on track action at Borger’s Speedway.

With temperatures in the 90’s Saturday nights racing at Borger’s Speedway was also hot! The first annual Sprint Cup team Stage One Modified Challenge took center stage with six members of the Roush/Fenway Dewalt Tools team climbing aboard Stage One Modifieds and putting on a great show for the fans. All six Roush/Fenway team members said they had a great time and will most definitely be back in August when they return to Pocono.

In the headliner Hoosier Racing Tires 270 Micro sprints, Sammy “Hemi” Hemhauser has once again shown his dominance as he aced his sixth feature win of the season. Hemhauser used a pole position to lead from green to checkers of the thirty lap main event. Wind Gap, PA’s Jordan “the tornado” Tittle is continuing his charge to the front of the Hoosier racing tires point standings as he picked up another runner-up finish. Last weeks winner “Diamond” Dave Dornblaser was third from his eighth starting position.
**Fuel was taken from the top three finishers to be tested.

Mike “smooth as” Glass picked up his fourth Slingshot main event of the season. Glass used a fourth starting position and quick lap times to pick up the win. At the checkers it was Mike Glass followed by the ageless Stan “the man” Friedman with Kurt Bettler coming home third.

The Stage One Modifieds feature saw plenty of side by side action that was much to the delight of the fans. “The dirt diva” Lindsey Rutherford-Sides picked-up her third feature win of the season. Rutherford-Sides led all laps of the twenty lap main event, but didn’t have it easy as she shook off the challenges of Joel Smith and Ethan Rutherford.

In the Rookie Micro Sprint division, Lehighton, PA’s “Blazin’” Brandon Edgar won his fifth feature race of the season. Edgar started the race in the eighth position and passed the quick running Luke “the pain” Kane on lap thirteen to pick-up the win. Kane looked to be on his way to another feature win but couldn’t keep Edgar at bay. Marc McConnell finished third

Two one hundredths of a second was the margin of victory in the Lentini Auto Salvage Junior Slingshot division. Division point leader Brett “the little jet” Hoffmaster was leading at the white flag of the twenty lap main event. With the checkers in sight Hoffmaster bobbled coming off of turn four and second running Austin Burke pulled along side of Hoffmaster as the pair drag raced to the line. With one of the closest finishes in Borger’s Speedway history, everyone in attendance was on their feet for this awesome finish. Alex “the ace” Hoffmaster came home in third.
