Last week we bent a rear axle in a small encounter. I very quickly with my porta-power straighten it to less than .002 of run-out, but now I am worried that it might fracture later. Does anyone have experience in straightening axles?

I have one in my car I have straightened at least 4 or 5 times over the last 3 years and no trouble yet knock on wood.

We have also run axles that have been straightened and haven't had a problem.
