Can anyone help. Had the engine rebuilt. During the heat i blew a hole in the top of the piston the size of the grand canyon. Jetting 85/116. Replaced the piston quick. Went out to the feature and it was blowing oil out the exhaust. Would have been great for crop dusting. It bogged out terribly coming out of the corner. Didn't blow but caught the wall instead. Where can i begin to look. Some think its a seal. Others think there is a fuel problem. I think that if it were a fuel problem at the tank it wouln't run at all. When it runs , it runs but there is no in between. Thanks for any help.

It's probably the seal on the crankshaft on the transmission side. We had the same problem earlier this year, smoking like crazy and not running to well. It's pulling oil out of the transmission and burning it in the motor. Your crank bearing is more than likely bad too, that's what causes the seal to go bad.
Hope this helps,

Curtis is 100% right about everything he stated, I also just had one go out during the shoot-out last weekend, make sure you replace the bearing beacause like Curtis stated it is were the problem orginated from.

Yep right side crank seal is what mine was doing....And it doesnt burn the tranny fluid too well either...is it loading up and not wanting to clear out???? You will also find that when you split the cases, that bearing is just going to fall out of the case half...if it was ran long enough a new bearing might have slop in it, and you 'MAY" need to replace the case half...

while you have it apart look at your tranny gears, if you ran it far with no tranny fluid it heats up the gears and it'll turn them blue from the heat.
