My 6 year old is ready to give it a try. I have zero experience with quarter midgets. I think there are different sizes, what size do I run for a skinny little 55lb girl? what brand chassis and shocks do I want? Where do I get kids safety gear? Heck, where do I go to race? (I'm in southern lancaster co.)
Any help would be great. Thanks

Carl first and foremost check out the quartermidget.org site, they have a ton of info. that your looking for, tracks, classifieds, members, etc. There are different size cars, 76", 78", 80" and 82" cars. You want to find a car that when she sits in it her head is not too close to the halo(w/helmet)I believe it has to be no closer than 1" or 1.5" in the sitting up position. She would probaly fit good in a 78" car. Good cars are Bullriders, Nervo, Star and Fisers. Look through the classifieds and find a good used car for her if your not sure if she wants to stay in it(save money). The car will need a honda 120 because she will need to start in the junior novice class. The shocks are typically an owners preference but good shocks are VRP's, ARS and Gen 3's and 4's. Check out ultrasheild for equipment. They have alot of equipment at reasonable prices for kids. Again if you know someone that is in this already and you can borrow there stuff it would save you a bunch of money if it turns out that she does not want to do it. Most tracks put the kids through novice school for about 5-6 wk programs prior to the season. Both my son and daughter raced qm's and we had a blast. Last but not least you have both asphalt and dirt tracks to choose from since your from the pa area. No matter what club you join you will be able to race at any qm santion track across the country. I have safety stuff from my kids that I would be more than happy to sell at very cheap prices if your interested(almost give it away)! Anyway hope this helps if you have any questions feel free to call me and will gladly try and answer any questions you have and steer to the right people and places. Hello Carl'
I have a pair of Bullrider Quarter midgets for sale, racing suit racing pants.Pit carts parts tires wheels ect. willing to sell one or both cars. Pics of both my cars are here in the classifieds section. red and blue cars.
Both cars are able to have pedals and steering moved to fit most any size driver..
They both have what is called an interior as a seat. a seat is always able to be mounted in these cars..
I would recomend starting out at a dirt track.. much easier on your wallet. we can rsce a complete season on one set of tires.
We have raced at the west end quartermidget racing assn track in gilbert pa. about 15 min south of pocono. we have one of the largest tracks on the east cost for q.m. check it out at www.weqmra.com.

If you are looking for more info or just want to see my cars please message me..
Thanks and good luck racing.
