A mechanic I am not. I just stripped the engine block mount on a 2005 Kawasaki (the mount by the valve cover) and re-tapping the hole did not help. Is this fixable?

Yes you can have someone permanent locktite a thread insert into it.

Or try a Helicoil

Why dont you just put a nut on the backside and let that webbing hold the nut front turning? Thats how I do it...

Nick at Schlauch Race Cars did use a grinder to the back side of the mount so you can fit a nut in and it works fine. Add one more time Nick has saved us from missing a race weekend.
