October 10th; Path Valley Speedway – The Night before the Nationals; Fleming takes second win of the year.
On a heavy racing surface and with many new teams in attendance to shake down their mounts before the Sprint Nationals it quickly became the Stan Fleming show.
In the non stop feature, Stan Fleming finished with two lapped cars separating himself and Chad Hough.
In victory lane Stan was quick to give “thanks to my team owners, Saner Motorpsorts and our sponsor, DuMor Site Furnishing.” Stan continued “We really had our Yamaha powered Hyper chassis working well tonight. With the heavy surface, the front row start was a blessing. Last time here we finished upside down. This week we are standing in victory lane and it feels great!”
Last week we reported that the chase for the Hyper Cup was coming down to the wire. After tonight’s race we can report that both of the top two teams of Tim Mertz and Ryan Greth are level on 1982 points.
The results of the Sprint Nationals will decide the 2008 Sidewinder Champion.
To add another amazing twist to the tale, Tim Mertz was crowned the Trail-Way Champion and had only 1 win at Trail Way compared to Ryan Greth’s 2 wins at TW. At Path Valley, Ryan Greth was crowned the champion with 3 wins compared to Tim Mertz’s 6 wins at PV. It just goes to show consistent finishes win points championships.
