Just looking for a starting point with the gas pressures for a 270 using VRP shocks, additionally any suggestions on the pressure settings with a slick or heavy track? Thanks:confused:

I typically run 75 in normal conditions. High banked tracks, usually more on the right side. Vince is a great help, I recommend calling them directly if you need assistance based on the condidtions at your particular track. Good luck.

I dunno if I agree with what vince says about runnin that high of pressure. I was running them on a 1/4 mile and found that i was able to feel the car more with only running 35 lbs pressure. This was done at the recomendation of Mike Dicely, If the track was rough or real heavy I would up my pressures especially the rr. That kind of high pressure in the front did not seem to let the car work like it should have either. Just seems like an awful lot of rod pressure for a 270 runnin them that high.

Interesting, I've never tried that, but I will. Although, not mentioning any names, a consistent 20+ per year race winner once told me he always runs 75 pounds. I guess it all factors into your set up and what works best....trial and error as everything else. Vince actually told me I could run 100, maybe even up to 125 lbs if I am remember correctly.

Ive heard with vrps when you run 65 or under you are risking having the shock gets all messed up inside other brands you can run as low as 8 i heard.

I have not had any problems with runnin them at 35. While talking about some set-ups with Mike Dicely he told me that you can run as low as 35 in the vrps. He said vince says 65 is the lowest but Mikes personal opinion was that is too much pressure for our cars. I just felt that I could feel the car more at the lower pressure. Unless of course the track was real tacky or rough.

I posted a sheet I got from Vince @ VRP.... If you have any issue just give him a call or make a appointment to meet w/ him... I had some car handling issues in the spring, and he helped me fix the issue... It turned out some how my rear shocks had the wrong valves in them...
These settings work about 95% of the time... Remember to add 10 psi for your gauge...

O' by the way I only run a LR adjustable... I tried both but it gives you to much to screw w/ while racing, at least in my case...
