I believe they are under cc because 250 4 strokes can race with 125 2 strokes so to convert it you double the cc for a 4 stroke. 250x2=500cc 4 stroke against a stock motor 270x2=540cc for a 4 stroke to compete any other ideas?

ive talked ot people that said if you set up the gearing right and jetting properly it will be better then the 270's because of the wider power band but i don't know. and the 250 four strokes have way more power then the 125 2 strokes my neigbor used to race and has had both types of dirt bikes. they just go with those numbers because they are the most common you don't hear of a 230cc four stroke thats just my oppinion

I think with all of the 270 chassis available someone should spend some time dynoing some combinations to see what we would need to do to make the two fair.

yea but they are 2 different beasts if you have a four stroke that puts out teh same hp as the 2 stroke the four stroke would have a major advantage with the wider power band so its how much less hp should the four stroke be with a wider power band to make it even with the 2 stroke. i think that since everyone out there has the 2 strokes f they let the four strokes have more power then noone will buy any more 2 strokes i would sell my engines as soon as possible if i heard that and get a 4 stroke. y can't everyone stick with teh same engine? in teh 600 at times it would be nicer if everyone ran teh same brand then there wouldn't be all these fights about 636 cc over 600 and stuff like that. how would you feel if you won a race and you had a four stroke and everyone else had a 2 everyone else would say it is because of the motor and not talent witch it probably wasn't the motor or if you knew the motor was giving you an edge it wouldn't be that great of a win because you are in a class of your own.

Sprinter10 you are exactly right....we were recently told we could not race our 250 4-stroke at one of our favorite tracks because the 125s were complaining that we had too much hp. Thats actually quite a complement, but the real speed was in our setup, not the engine, and it really sucked that my 14 yr old and I traveled 75 miles each way only to be told he could not run. Point is, anytime you mix engine types, someone is at a disadvantage, and will complain. Don't waste your time building 450's to compete with the 270s, because as soon as you start to win you will get parked too. I absolutly love my 250/4, and think the 4 strokes are a great engine for a micro, but the best way to do it is to run them as a seperate class. That way we could keep them reasonably stock, and mandate electric start, which is really the way to go for long term success of the class. JMO

yea four stokes would definitely be better i hate blowing up and changing jets with these 2 strokes but i definitely whant the 2 strokes to stay strong for resale of my 2 270's i love not having to pull teh plug with my 600 after every race. that stinks that they wouldn't let you race and i believ it was prob justthe suspention and driver skill that makes you faster that is the case alot of the time with the micos but right away everyone says there cheating or have a better motor or better car with $140 ciramic bearings haha.
