A good friend of mine recently bought an 05 Hyper with an 07 GSXR motor. The car has a fuel pressure gauge that works correctly. There is a one wire temp. sensor running to a temp. guage, the gauge does not work. I am wondering how the one wire temp. gauge operates. Should I fix the one installed or get a different style(electronic) temp. gauge? Also does anyone suggest running a tach on a 600? The car did not come with one installed.

thanx

The single wire should only be an inline sensor wire. The guage should be mechanical, not electrical. Any electrical wire should only be for a light in the guage. Sounds as if it is a mechanical guage and the sensor wire is broken between the sensor and the guage. Definatley replace it!

There is really no need for any more than just a coolant temp gauge for the driver. Fuel pressure is only needed for maintenence. Tach's are nice, but distracting. The less the driver has to monitor, the better.

A memory tach is nice for setting final gear ratio and I run a shift light so I can tell where on the track I'm hitting a certain rpm.
I like my digital temp gauge, it records max temp and will flash at a preset temp so never have to check it on the track unless I see it flash.
