YOUTH KART DIVISIONS WILL RACE FOR FREE IN 2009!
WVMP track director Billy Maynard is pleased to announce the Meshoppen Stone Youth Racing Program, new for 2009! Meshoppen Stone, Inc. president Bill Ruark confirmed today that his company will take care of the entry fee for EVERY rookie purple caged, novice blue caged, and junior gold caged racer in EVERY point race this season! "We really believe in what the track is doing for area youngsters, and we're happy to be able to help out," Ruark commented.
"We are thrilled to be able to put this deal together with the help of Meshoppen Stone," stated Maynard. "We've done several things for the youngsters in our first three years with the help of some other sponsors, but nothing of this magnitude. It couldn't come at a better time, with many concerned about the struggling economy. We are hoping this will help those who may not be able to race weekly otherwise, and possibly attract new racers that may have to travel to get here by allowing them to take their entry fee money and use it toward fuel costs.
WVMP is not stopping with young competitors, either. "We are putting the final touches on a program with the Bradford County Big Brothers/Big Sisters to allow free grandstand admission to all of the BB/BS participants. Many of these youngsters have not enjoyed motorsports, and what better way to introduce them than for them to be able to watch racers their age? Members of this program are always looking for inexpensive entertainment venues. This will give them a new option, and if they enjoy themselves, they are welcome to return as often as they like," Maynard elaborated.
Maynard continued that several other events and promotions are being planned, contingent upon the acquisition of sponsorship for those events.
As we prepare to close out this decade, the "Nightmare of the Northern Tier" is poised to provide some 'sweet dreams!'
