I have a problem keeping my lugs tight on my 250. I am just starting to race this year. I have tryed every thing i was told that the RR is supposed to be reverse thread witch i have and the LR being regular. On the RR ihave a splined spacer and a taperd spacer inbetween the lug and the rim. On the LR i only have a lug and thats it. Does the taperd part of the spacer go toward the rim on on the inside of the lug nut?.....and do i need anything on the LR. Like i said i am just getting started with no experience at all so anyone who man have some tips and tricks for me please let me know yo can e-mail me at chryslerwrencher@yahoo.com or PM me or u can also call me at 302-229-6408 my name is brett i will be at the magp tonight for the airport club meeting. and thanks in advance for all of your help....

hi brett the spacer goes at the end of the axle between the spacers and the nut. and i would put one one the other side as well and as for them coming lose tighten them really good if it still happens you can drill a small hole in the axles and put a coter pin in the hole

tapered spacers on the outside of the wheel only. make sure you get a full nut on the thread. do not use a flat spacer on the outside between the wheel and the nut. taper goes towards the wheel. do you have have a hole drilled in the end of the axle about 2 threads in to put a rue clip?

yes i dohave the hole on the axle but i have to change around some spacing but .....do the lug nuts always stay like tight tight or does just the r-clip rue clip or cotter pin just hole the nut on and keep it from coming completely off

i would go as tight as possible. just make sure u dont see any splines with the spacer on there. tighten it as tight as possible. ive had rr nuts break loose with just the rue keeping it on there. you dont want it breaking loose.

check and make sure that your wheel nut is actually tight against the spacer. If you don't have a deep enough spacer between the wheel nut and the rim the nut can bottom out at the end of the threads leaving the spacer and wheel loose. A good way to check is with the wheel nuts tight try turning one of the non splined spacers towards the middle of the axle. If you can turn them then the wheel nut is probably bottoming out and actually not holding the wheel tight.

another thing you may want to check is to make sure your wheel center is beveled if you are using the beveled and splined spacer on the outside. We had an old rim that the center was flat rather then beveled and the beveled spacers would loosen up no matter how tight we made it.

post a pic of what you have and maybe it may help understand what you have. I know i have a hard time explaining it...lol
