Has anyone found a cheaper American made rear axle bearing for the the RTS cars? 45 bucks seems awful expensive for a china made bearing.... And the bearing retainers are made of POS plastic...

I can read the bearing number on it, which is 06010-2RS/0G/S CHINA

Can't seem to cross reference it to a Timken...

i.e.
RTS #BIRD0103

why not just repack them. Alot cheaper than new. I repack my every 4 races and this is my 3rd season on them.

I do... But I need two new ones now, the plastic retainer in them is gone... I've actually haven't replace them since I got the car two years ago... So I have about 40 races on them, I don't even know how old they actaully are now...

I actually just found the single row version from a online wholesaler... They are 10 bucks and RTS wants 20... Nothin like making 50% profit...

You have to look at that 50% profit, a little different, cant forget costs for shipping. for employee cost to order, handle and sell the bearings, and other parts, just don't bash RTS every busness is like this, Hyper for instance you will pay $45 for a black bearing, (blue much better) with RTS though you get a lot better costomer service.

fyi the way to go would definatly be ceramic bearings, a lot better, lasts longer, but does cost a bit more, I wish I had money to order these, but I dont, I run a double on my right rear change at end of year, and left rear I have a single that half way though the year I have to repack or change. The bearing with the blue covers are better than the black ones.
