where is the protective gear on the saftey crew? how do you show up in shorts and a T shirts as "saftey crew" to posibly pull someone from a burning car?

If you notice, the first guy to show up in shorts in not even a saftey crew member...he a photographer. I think most of the guys you see in shorts are probably wrecker staff. Either way none of those guys, dressed like that especially, should be anywhere near that car. Let the fire crew (however inappropriately dressed) do it's job first, then worry about towing the car and taking pictures.

Response time is critical in a fire situation. Yes, the camera guy along with other persons nearby responded faster than the emergency crew. Maybe everyone on the track should be wearing some fire protective gear including the camera guy. Hopefully the emergency crew will be more on their toes in the future. They are part of the unsung heros who make racing possible.
