March 21st Trail-Way – Brian Racine is still batting at 1000 !
Proving that that last week’s win was not a fluke, Brian Racine once again picked up the victory in the first of the special Sidewinder Sprints $500 to win shows.

Cars making their 2009 debut included, Patrick Roller, Jim Campbell and Mark Strickler.

The heat races provided plenty of action. During the first heat, Brian Racine had a right rear deflate going into turn one at 90+ MPH causing the car to suddenly spin. Jason Morrison was following closely, the two cars got together with both cars flipping over. Jason received the worst of the damage with both wings destroyed, numerous radius rods broken and the front axle snapped in two. Brian received front end and wing damage in his tail tank pirouette.

The heart breaker of the day belonged to a fast improving Jared Hudson in his Yamaha powered Hyper. Jared blitzed the first heat field to win by the length of the straight, only to come up 2 lbs light at the scale and be disqualified from the heat results forcing him to start last in the feature. The light at the end of the tunnel came with Jared being awarded the Workshop Yamaha/ Polaris “Hard charger award” for his run from the rear to finish 12th.

In the feature pole sitter Craig Myers grabbed the lead at the initial start with Shawn Seifert close behind. Seifert took command of the field by the completion of the second circuit. The caution flew on lap 7. At the restart, last week’s feature winner and 6th starter, Brian Racine dove under Seifert in turn one to take away the lead. For the remaining laps Mark Strickler, Chad Hough and Craig Myers battled for the third, fourth, and fifth positions. Brian Racine held on to take the National Guard #61 to victory lane for the second time in a row.

In victory lane, Brian gave thanks to all the people that help make everything possible “Never in a million years would I have ever thought we'd be in victory lane again this week! Especially after such a rough start to the day in our heat race. Here's where I have to thank my crew again for being ready for the situation and being quick on the repair. This team has come a long way in every aspect. Also, I need to thank my car owners, Heather and SGT. Jason Forry for fielding this car and for having the needed equipment in reserve to keep us in the race when incidents like that happen.” Brian went on to say “ I'd like to thank the Forry Motorsports, the National Guard and all the Armed Forces for helping keep this country safe!, my crew: Adam Fodor, Tony Little, Jeff Barel and Kevin and Nicole Markle. We are very grateful to our sponsors for helping out, including Pancho’s Racing Products, Shadow Racing Products, ACE Security, Guhl Injection, Spar Racing Engines for the absolutely awesome horsepower and WeeBee Audio and Video for stepping up as the class sponsor. I also wish to give a special thank you to Mike Dicely and the crew at Hyper Racing that have provided our team with great cars since we started.”

Parity report: The first 5 cars were made up of Hyper, Probe, Stallard, Hyper and Triple X.

Last Week’s Question:
Q. With next weekend being the first of the $500 to win double headers at Path Valley and Trail-Way, will we see someone sweep the cash on both nights ?

A. With the rain out at Path Valley on Friday Night, the double header didn’t happen as planned. The Sunday race at path Valley became a non Sidewinder Sprints points race. All cars still received track points.

Next Week’s Question;
Q. Can Brian Racine make it 3 in a row at Trail-Way?
