View Full Version : For Sale Honda CR500 motor set for a superkart with QRC mount
GIRacer 04-18-2009, 01:25 AM THE MOTOR IS SOLD/ went out for the initial price/ no cat in the bag!
About the statement for Superkart, mean: the racing class, the motor will mount on any cage race gokart, with the under chassis frame clamps, to the mount style that is currently in use. not recommended for an open kart, (too much horse power).
I have a CR500 Honda motor, complete with electronics( cdi and coil) set up as a unit with the motor, run on pump gas, set for a super kart/ or race cage kart, with a kart mount, and bolts, made by QRC kart racing, ready to sit on your go kart, I have an FMF, silver steel pipe, goes with it, motor is basically complete with electronics, and carb, I do not race karts anymore, if interested for pics, etc, e-mail at Gimeldi201@aol.com, will forward pics if requested, PM or call my cell 321 4319641.
motor has runned asphalt at Orlando Speedworld, and is in good condition, I am located in FL but will ship. Not currently using it, had moved to minisprints, so it must go.
will sell engine with QRC race go kart mount, electronics/coil and cdi and FMF silver steel pipe for 600, you pay shipping from FL. the price has been adjusted since the top end is been removed and revised, freshen, ports cleaned, mildly ported for flow and electronics revised, coil is been replaced. just in case a freshen CR500 sells for 2000 in QRC web, I just cant give it away, thanks again
GIRacer
lllosingit 04-23-2009, 01:16 AM You agreed to sell the motor for $400 yesterday and then you jack up the price today???
You were supposed to get a shipping quote for us today so we could send you the payment.
Instead you raise the price today by $200...what is that all about?
price has
been adjusted since the top end is been removed and revised, freshen, ports
cleaned, mildly ported for flow and electronics revised, coil is been
replaced. just in case a freshen
I doubt you did all that work on it since 9pm when we talked to you last night?
Here is the E-Mail you sent me yesterday with the price listed.
These are some pictures in a hurry of the CR500 honda motor, in a hurry since the camera run out of memory, and is night time , if interested I could take better pictures or more tomorrow out of the garaje.I am not trying to make excuses i want to see somebody happy and proiud of a CR500 in his kart. I saw a real crappy one in e-bay smoiking at more than 500.
But key in this motor is basically is in good condition, the FMF pipe will need his attachment springs to the engine, can buy in a hardware store or Honda dealer, plus the catb needs the fuel metering needle and his lock with the spring, and rubber cap, for the rest everything is there. IF need more pictures or questions feel free. i can take better ones tomorrow in day light and make the equiptment shine, althought the equipment will be the same.
I tried to take picture of the soft weldment a top the case but the camera is out of memory, if requested i will take more pictures and at that specific area, for you. The motor is been sitting in my garage, since I am doing other racing, but it was given to me in good condition, to race it for the club, and I never race it. I think you cant go wrong with this motor and the price, comes with the QRC mount, and the steel FMF pipe, to push the HP, I think just the QRC mount along is 250 dollars.I am selling a good package for 400 firm plus you pay your shipping, ground will be the shippest to Iowa, UPS or Fed- ex.
I am telling you my honest thruth, the motor has ignition and shift good tru all gears, the piston looks good and has good compression I think with a little bit of cleanup, and a few parts in the carb, like needle spring and rubber grommet the beast will be ready to smoke tracks again, when i saw this motor in a race kart I became fascinated.
thanks again and let me know
Louis.
GIRacer 04-25-2009, 12:45 AM Don't be so sore about the price adjustmet from 400 to 600D, I am selling you a CR500 Honda, but I didnt got any money from you when I decided to sell you the motor. If it bothers you 200 dollars more for a 2000 dollars engine, then you really dont need one. I had race karts and I know you can get a decent, used flathead Briggs for that money, that puts out 12 HP across the board., or 300/350 dollars for a chinese clone 5hp stock package.
A CR500 Honda puts out 70hp with no problems and nine out of ten the weldments on your kart frame will came undone, especially at the motor mount.
if you are familiar maybe you already know that! that is If you race with the Big Leagues!
why are you so sore and dont make me an offer! remenber the old saying put your money where your mouth is! You wont be able to find a CR500, in good shape for 500 dollars, special price only for you, not even if it is made in China! I appreciate your enthusiasm about having one, give me 500D and your shipping, and is yours. thanks GIRacer!
About refreshing the top end took me 15 minutes to pull the top end, and 2 hours to clean the crap out of piston, cylinder,(Caster oil film) inspect the crank, change coil
since it was not sparking. Thanks God for people that cares! O and sell as is! dont cry anymore! offer money and be polite, not grouchy!
lllosingit 04-25-2009, 03:54 AM The fact remains that you agreed to sell the motor for $400 and the reason you didn't have the money in hand was the fact that you were going to get us a shipping quote so we knew how much to pay!!!
Why would I have to make you an offer? We already had an agreement as far as I was concerned. If I did you'd just change your mind again and add $200 to the price because you got a wild hair up your ass and decided to put a new spark plug in it.
The motor was going to get a complete rebuild before it was even put on the QRC Outlaw Kart By the way It's a GoKart not a top fuel dragster....The welds will more than handle the power of that little motor.
By the way Karts are hardly the big leagues LOL. I run Multi Class Micros and consider them just something to play with...hardly big league either.
I don't care how much the motor is worth...You agreed on a price the changed your mind and now your trying to make it sound like cleaning the piston is worth $200....Since when is cleaning the piston considered freshening a motor?
I always thought that was new rings and cleaning up the cylinder walls with a hone and some new gaskets.
I am a racer too and I consider myself an honest person who sticks to his word, I buy and sell all the time and I have never agreed to something then gone back on my word!
I've sold stuff at a loss just to help someone out because they needed it more than I did.
I don't have much money and race on a budget but anyone that races with me knows that if it's in my trailer and I'm not using it then all they have to do is ask and they can borrow it for as long as they need it.
My family and friends know my word is as good as a signed contract, If I agree to buy or sell at a certain price I'm going to do it even if I suddenly find that I could get more money from it or buy it cheaper some where else.
What you did was get someone who could really use the motor excited because he was going to have a spare motor so he could run for points this year only to have you jerk us around with the price.
I believe in treating others the way I would expect to be treated, I guess you wouldn't have a clue what that means!
