Full Day of Racing Has New Faces In Victory Lane
ABC Car Crushing sponsored round two of small car racing at Dunn Hill 2 Speedway. It was a regular show for all divisions. Action was awesome and the fans got to see new faces make it to victory lane.
The kart racing was moved to the first events for the day. Super Seniors had a tight close race with Rodney McConnell in #431 picking up win number two. Finishing in second and third were Bren Lattimer and Dale Anderson. Not able to start the feature was David Perry.
Rookie Purple with eight competitors all hoping to put their name into the record books. Micheal Davis grabbed the lead with his brother Connor right one his bumper. Connor took the lead on lap three and even with spin held on to capture win number two. Finishing in second was Doug Newbiggens, third was Michael Davis, fourth to Caleb Hadlock and in fifth was Levi Belles.
Sportskids also found eight racers wanting to hold the checkered flag. Mackenzie Doyle and Tamara Burkholder brought the field to the green. Mackenzie grabbed the lead and held on til DJ Knowles took it away on lap five. DJ managed to hold on until lap nine when last weeks feature winner Keith Lamphere grabbed the top spot. Keith held on to capture his second feature event of the season. Rounding out the top five were Dom Rogers, Mackenzie Doyle, DJ Knowles and Tamara Burkholder.
The exciting Novice Blue was next to the track. Nine racers took the green with Cody Kershner grabbing the lead. He had Seth Anderson and last weeks winner Jacob Doyle on his bumper both hoping to dethrone the number 22. The event was slowed by one caution for Riley Gowin who has been having mechanical problems the past two weeks. When the green came back out, Kershner continued to lead with Doyle right there. Cody managed to hang on for this first victory of the season. Jacob Doyle was second, Seth Anderson was third, Craig Smith in fourth and fifth was Mitchell Maynard.
Sportsmen found Doug Lantz recording his second win. Followed by Richie Vanderpool and Micheal Tuttle. This division is a great one to race in as the engines are a sealed motor and keeps the action tight with a reasonable cost. This allows anyone who wants to give racing a try a inexpensive way to try it.
With only one Animal racer at the track. They combined Animals and Flatheads together to compete. The race began with Dave Hazzard and Tripp Ritter on the front row. Hazzard jumped into the lead until lap five when Ritter took it away. The 7star of Nick Bruce kept his bumper close to the Ritter machine. The event was slowed only twice, but it kept the field tight. When the checkered flag fell it was win number two for Tripp Ritter. Rounding out the Flathead top four were Nick Bruce, Dave Hazzard and Quinn Davis.
Animal feature winner went to Zack Bruce. This division usually has many drivers competing. If you want a fun way to race, check out the rules to see if this division will work for you.
Up next was the big car portion of Small Car Saturday. Car counts were down this week, as the other track which was closed due to illness reopened. The popular 600 Micros were the first feature of the program. Eleven teams were on hand all hoping to take home the top prize. Tough day for Bobby Maynard who developed mechanical problems and was not able to start the feature event. The front row was made up of Craig Fox and Jordan Tittle. Fox grabbed the lead and held off Jordan Tittle to capture his first victory. Rounding out the top five were Jordan Tittle, Nick Wood, Collin Hadlock and Jim Reese.
Rookie 270 Micros had only two racers for their feature event. It was a good race with Ed Mrochko capturing his first win of the season. Kelsi Jenkins finished in second, with a good run for this young lady who has never driven any type of race machine. She is learning the car and track with the best type of experience track time. Congratulations to both drivers on a job well done.
The popular Allstar Slingshots made their way to the track. Skylar Middendorf and Alex Shaffer brought the field to the green. Alex grabbed the early lead with his teammate Dalton Maynard closing in. Dalton grabbed the lead until lap 10 with last weeks feature winner Carl Bittenbender closing in. Carl made the pass and went on to capture win number two. The rest of the top five included Dalton Maynard, Alex Shaffer, Bob Boughton and Kamdin Maby.
The final event of the days festivities was the 270 Micros. Mark Wurzler and Austin Bishop brought the field to the green. The youngster Bishop grabbed the lead and held off veteran driver Jordan Tittle to record his first feature win of the 2012 season. Austin remarked in his victory lane celebration that his father setup the 270 for him. The fans saw one of the upcoming stars enjoy his first win. Following Austin across the finish line were Jordan Tittle, Mark Wurzler, Kyle Traver and Derek Frederick.
Although it was slightly dusty the racers and fans saw some great racing on the hill. Next Saturdays racing is sponsored by G-n-S Trucking for a regular show. Gates open at 2pm with practice beginnng at 4pm. The drop of the green for qualifying will start right after practice. If you are a Friday night racer, bring your grandstand ticket for a $1.00 off grandstand admission for Small Car Saturday. Be sure to visit the website for all your information at www.dunnhill2speedway.com.

i have a like new rts chassis with a kawi 636 motor with ghul methonal injection and brand new body. Reason for selling is my father passed away in january leaving me at 24 with a very sick mother who is currently in the hospital and i am in need of money to keep a roof over our head. the car comes iwth a ton of spare parts including a spare body, axle, lug wrench, radious rods, bars, tires, wheels, set up blocks, shocks and a ton of misc. parts. We purchused the car last fall and ran it once. car has a bad wiring harness in it. Spoke to guys at ghul injectors where recently done before the we bought the car. Total cost on a new harness is about 300 bucks. My father and i spent over $12,000 on the operation and i am only asking $10500 for it. Your gain my loss. I have a ton of pictures of the car apon request. You can contact me on my cell during the day @ 201 995 7974 or at my house after 7 @ 845 794 3920 ask for rob. If there is no answer at the house call my cell phone. I am slightly negotionable with the price but dont low ball me eigther. Look foward to selling the car and seeing it doing well. thanks -Rob
