Default 2010 600 Pro Series

inline image
The 2010 edition of the 600 Pro Series is ready to rock and roll. Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic has once again come on board as the series title sponsor with NPS Racing engines as the primary sponsor. A complete list of associate sponsors will be released in the coming week. The series website is going to be revamped in the next few weeks and I will post the new address when available. I have attached the rules, points pay out and other information so please take a minute to look those over. There are a few changes this year with the most notable being

#1 no compound rule. to accumulate series points you must be on Hoosiers on all 4 corners. you can compete for the race event on any tire manufacture but cannot accumulate series points on any tire other then Hoosier

#2 there is a $35.00 membership fee to join the series this season. you do not need to compete at every event to accumulate series points but you must be registered. you can register at any time during the season. A penalty for registration after the first series event is detailed in the rules

we have increased the schedule to 10 races in 2010 with two being wingless Hamlin and Kutztown. Also Clinton county and Black Rock will have a elevated payout. at this time we are shooting for $1,500.00 to win and will confirm that in the near future. The series website is being over hauled and will be available in the next few weeks

2010 is a big year for the series and it wouldn't be possible with out all the sponsors and racers. we averaged 42 cars per race last year and i hope we can exceed that this year. with the addition of the two wingless shows it should be interesting to say the least.

Thank you and Happy Holidays to all.........Wayne Lesher

Don't forget if you want to run for Pro Series points you must be member of the series. Don't wait until the first race to register. you must be registered before sign in for the first race is completed to accumulate points for the first race. you can't have a good showing at the first race and then decide to join the series and expect to be scored for the first race.....Thank You

I want to address some questions and /or concerns about the protest rule i have in place for the series. I don't want to create a circus atmosphere with this rule but i also wanted the rule to be taken seriously. This is not a claimer rule I didn't want to make the fee so high that no one would ever ultilize the rule if they felt they had hard evidence that someone was cheating. I also didn't want the fee too low that it was too easy to accuse someone of cheating for no other reason than they have a feeling. the rule states that the motor will be removed from the car immediately after the race. Now i'm not going to have someone pull there motor on a friday night when they are racing for points some where on saturday. we will mark the motor and seal it record serial numbers and take pictures so the engine in question can be removed after the following evening races.
Now i know there will be some conspiracy theroists that will say this and that about duplicating marks, seals. etc. all i can say is i'm not going to convince you otherwise. if someone really thinks someone else is cheating and they are willing to put up the cash and risk losing $1,000.00 well they are either loaded or have some information. $500.00 of the $1,500.00 fee goes to the series regardless of the outcome. i can tell you i will use a common sense approach to this rule. for instance if the car that is singled out hasn't finshed in the top ten for any of the races i'm going to try to convince you to put your money back in your pocket. and if i find three of four people are trying to gang up on someone well i don't take kindly to bullies either. T
There are alot of things we can check on the motor without pulling it apart and will do so at my discretion. I will not allow this to turn into a witch hunt. This rule is in place to protect those of us who do play by the rules. One thing that will be adressed agressively are rev boxes. i will be checking randomly after warmups, heats and features. If you are caught running a rev box you will be not be allowed to compete at ANY of the series races for the remainder of the season regardless if you are a member or not. I want this rule to try to show racers that we are serious in the Pro Series about cheating. We aren't going to tear a motor apart at the track so this will allow, if necessary, an alternative to the typical after the race tech inspection......Thank You

Default rev boxes

Your car better be the first one in line if you want to do a randome test. That way we can be assured the 600 pro series is a true racing series for the racers and not the promoters.

Yeah Wayne, why would you go to all this effort to help promote the series when you have a car!.....What a kick in the balls, help the racers out and get busted on in return. Its hard for me to imagine having the ability to run so many big races in the PA region and people continue to bellyache about one thing or another. I'm guessing from the previous post, you should disqualify yourself from your series since you actually own a car, incredible! Good luck to you and your series this year, AND the weather!....and good point Dave, hope he was kidding. By the way, what is a "randome" test?

And guess who the 2nd one in line is gonna be...... I'll tell you Trip sometimes i wish i would have talked to you and Dan a little more before i did this series. Comments like Kevin's are the ones that just want to make you say the hell with it sometimes. But i'm not doing it for guys like him i'm doing it for the guys who come up and shake my hand at the end of the night and tell me how much fun they had. 10 years ago "Randome" might have meant whoever i have a bug up my ass about. Now i just consider the source. This getting older wiser stuff sucks
